Founded in 2007 by Jay and Vicki Cowley, our family-owned business is built on trust, integrity, and a passion for creating beautiful homes. Based in Cambridge, we specialise in architecturally designed homes, renovations, and small projects like kitchens, bathrooms, and decks.

Our team is made up of skilled and dedicated professionals who share a commitment to excellence. Jay leads his team well to result in top quality builds.

Our Team 

Jay Cowley

Along with my wife Vicki, I formed Jay Cowley Builder in 2007.  We are proud parents of 3 beautiful daughters Kendyl, Anika and Trista. We have lived in Cambridge most of our lives and love it. I enjoy watching the girls play sport, spending time with family, travelling, watching all different types of sport and keeping myself active.

I am a proud Samoan Kiwi which has helped with my respect and love for people. I enjoy working and helping people create their dreams with the understanding of the huge investment and time my clients have put in. I appreciate the trust my clients have in me to create, build and manage their projects.

Aidan McCoard.

Hey guys I’m Aidan I’ve been working for Jay for just over 5 years now. I completed my apprenticeship with Jay. And Through Jays guidance have developed a good eye for detail and high standards within the building industry. When I’m not the tools you’ll find me on the golf course with my mates or out fishing and camping with friends. I look forward to working with you all and bringing your visions to life.

Hello , I’ve been with working for Jay for 2 years now as an apprentice. While working for Jay I have gained a lot of knowledge and have started to build up an eye for detail and accuracy in building and look forward to going on to becoming qualified. Outside of building you will find me on the rugby field or hanging with family and friends. I look forward to working with you and bringing all your visions to life.

Andy Henshaw.

I am a dedicated carpenter with over a decade of experience in both residential and commercial projects. My background also includes 20 years as a Master Locksmith, working in New Zealand and the UK, which has helped me develop strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail.

I take pride in working closely with clients to bring their projects to life, ensuring quality craftsmanship and a smooth process along the way. Outside of work, I enjoy hands-on renovation projects, as well as spending time in the ocean diving, fishing, and swimming. I also love to ski, travel, and cook, and I value time spent with family and friends—especially over a great meal."
